​Meet the Founder: James Thompson

James began his carpentry journey in the early 1980s after completing a residential construction course and working with local builders in Bridgton, Maine. By the early 1990s, he launched JT Custom Carpentry with a vision to provide honest, high-quality work with a personal touch.

With a perfectionist mindset, strong work ethic, and decades of hands-on experience, James has built a reputation for:

Meet Co-owner: corey thompson

Corey’s passion for carpentry started at a young age, working alongside his father, James, on job sites throughout his childhood. After graduating high school in 2005, he pursued formal training in the field by enrolling in the Building Construction program at Eastern Maine Community College.

There, he honed both his technical skills and business knowledge, earning certifications from the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) and OSHA accreditation. In the years since, Corey has become co-owner of JT Custom Carpentry, carrying forward the company’s commitment to quality, integrity, and client-focused service.

Corey is known for his:

• Dedication to client communication and satisfaction

As a second-generation craftsman, Corey blends modern training with time-tested techniques to help bring each client’s vision to life—on time and with care.
